OK can you ever wonder what would happen if you had long lost sisters in a land far away? That is the premise of sister princess. Also, would you like to meet pets that pass away? Well, you have that in Angel Tales.
Basically, both story are based on the harem manga. OK you have in both, twelve beautiful girls living with a nerdy guy. This guy is such a loser that he has had a girlfriend like never. The anime girls fight over who gets the guy. This can get quite nasty in Angel Tales of course.
This is an anime review comparison. The two anime are similar in scope. However, they differ in that the anime reincarnated animals act quite common. In constrast the princesses of sister princess are very pure.
Let us contrast the frog ruru of Angel Tales with hina from sister princess. Both are childish and immature, but hina truly loves her brother who spends the whole day looking for her teddy bear and she is full of kindness and compassion. In contrast ruru cares for only one person. Basically it is herself that matters for ruru.
Sister Princess is an excellent anime. It is the story of a brother and his twelve long lost sisters, which some come from lands far away. They all live together now in a mansion. It is on the island of promise. Big Brother Wataru is happy to be back with all his sisters now. The sisters are all cute and nice. Wataru spends time with each one. You get good character development in this anime. |
In this story the sisters all get along nice. They even seem happy to be together and work on projects, except for one sister the lone wolf Chikane which likes to be on her own.
| Angel Tales has a bit of sadness in it. Goro has twelve angels that were former pets of his that pass away. They have fears from their previous life as pets when bad things happen to 'em.
Sadly, our hero Goro is very poor. He is behind on his rent and must beg his parents for money. He cannot afford food even. It is not cool to call your mom up. When you have no job and need money. |
The "sisters" in Angel Tales constantly fight and yell so much that is makes Goro sad and sick even. This is not an ideal paradise universe. There are elements of harsh reality in it that reminds us of the real world and our daily woe.
OK, things get so bad that the main goddess must call the sisters back to the spirit world and counsel them on the constant bickering that is going on. They say that they will all work together and try to agree.

Well, some people say Angel Tales is more into magic. This may well be, but there is also magic in sister princess. For example, Chikane uses magic and also there is a tree spirit that helps aria. What I like about sister princess is that everyone lives in peace.
This is my view. Still, would like for the sisters in Angel Tales to act more like real angels, because they remind me of bratty selfish sisters that for others do not really care...
We can do many review comparisons, but I prefer sister princess.
