Many people think MAD MAX, but it is quite different after the WAR.
The things we value are no more after the war. There are no more fire departments or police stations. No schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. You are on your own without a phone.
The people who do survive are very interested in finding food. They have no time for playing a horn or playing sports. It is like they have to struggle to survive. They do not care about things that do not put food on the table.
Repairing a tool is important, but the latest fashions are not. Clothes are functional. They serve a purpose. Future Dress looks quite odd to us now. In addition to the war there is a deluge of disasters, a cascade of catastrophes.

We can only hope he is wrong. OK, well, I've seen massive solar flares in the future that are far worse than what we have had up till now. Still, I wonder about how much damage they will do. I think that we will soon find out.
It is a bold new world where only a few make it.
