Well, I am sure that if I told a man in 1957 that in the future 2007, women instead of wearing pretty dresses would wear these ugly faded blue jeans and that most would be fat and Unkempt he would loudly disagree. In fact, the use of astral time travel to see our future would not convince him.

All he could see was a slightly polished up version of 1957. The cars a bit more streamlined and now flying through the sky. And up above silvery rockets fly. No cell phones or laptop computers, and certainly no mirls with manbags.
When you tell people the
future they do not believe it. In 1957 the women of the 21st century were seen
as skinny blondes wearing short dresses and hopping on rockets to go to the
moon. 
Most clothes are home spun. They are functional and not as ornate. Many prewar clothes are still in use, but you see an old business suit thrown over a T-shirt for warmth. Boots are max pop. Hats are back.
