Certainly, the invention of Time Machines has a lot of promise. However, most people do not want to build one. After all, you could indeed change the past so that you never were.
Basically, that is called the Grandfather Paradox. If your grandfather is no more... then so are you.
It is best to not find out the events and change em. Otherwise, the result could be a future quite unlike our own.
